Testing out my new work to see how its looking and what is or isn’t working. There’s still quite a few bits to finish off but its well on the way. The green monster will have legs too and they all need them stuffing as well.
I left the room for a few minutes and when I came back I saw that my Dad had been busying playing with scrap fabric – tut.
I hope you are having a nice Monday, the sun is out here and its fairly warm which is nice. Here are a few photos of the stuff I’ve been creating as part of my new installation, I don’t want to give too much away yet 🙂
Also here is a photo of my 10kg bag of polyester teddy stuffing that arrived a couple of weeks ago – its as tall as the door! It also blocked out all the light making the photo very dark, sorry about that.
I do apologise for the lack of posts on this blog. The good news is that I’m currently working away on some art so you can expect posts to be more frequent for a while. The 20-21 Open Art & Sculpture Exhibition that I usually enter around September time is taking place much earlier this year in mid July. I only found out about this maybe 2 weeks ago at the most so I’m in panic mode at the moment to get it finished in time to submit. I’m intending doing a mini installation for this years entry, whether it will get picked or not who knows but it’s worth a try. If not then I can always try entering it other places or seeing if I can show it at a local gallery or something. Anyway, do you remember the blue monster I posted before? Well now he has a friend! In fact he actually has 2 but I haven’t uploaded those photos yet, also they aren’t quite finished – I ran out of stuffing. Hope you like them!
So it’s about half way through January now and is very snowy out. Looks so pretty! This is my 1st post of the New Year, I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and New Year celebrations! Currently I’m still doing planning and deciding about how best to get going with my art this year – I’d like to attempt a large installation piece soon but I’m not sure how yet. I also have plans for some more accessories and plushie monsters. Maybe a bit of a comic collaboration, but its still very early on that so I can’t really say anymore on that yet. I haven’t got going with much yet to show you but I can share my commission piece that was the very last piece of work I completed last year. I hope you like him ^_^
The degree show is now over and closed to the public so that means I can now start selling the items. Currently all the items are available. Prices start at £3/£4 for the smaller plush creatures and go up from there based on materials used and how complicated/time consuming it was to make. If you are interested in buying anything please send me a message or leave a comment and will get straight back to you.
At last – I eventually finished making all of my items for my degree show installation piece and handed in all my work for 10am yesterday. It’s pretty much all over now and I can actually have a life back after spending months doing nothing but Uni work. It’s been very hard, slow and stressful but the show opens in June and I can’t wait to see what people think. Here’s a sneak preview…
